THE NORTHWEST LOOP

This name is as good as any for this ride out of the westside of Ann Arbor :
Lots of twists and straights with a small amount of hill and dale.
Figure at least 100 to 150 miles.; Three to four hours roughly. There are all the various side roads you can ponder. You enter four different counties. Washtenaw, Livingston,
Ingham and Jackson. We have found also this area to be low in Police activity. The few patrol cars I've seen are on Territorial and Seymour.
I have numbered alternate routes. It may help to look at a Delorme map or Google Earth.
I tried to color code roads that connected one way or the other. Print this out.
Start : At Huron River Drive and North Main St. Ann Arbor
Take Huron River Dr all the way to
Mast Rd.
(1)Turn right go all the way to
North Territorial Rd or
(2)Turn left go all the way into Dexter. Turn right, go thru downtown and under the bridge. Go straight, you're on Island Lake Rd. Turn right on
Dexter Townhall Rd.

Turn left on
North Territorial Rd. turn right on Hadley Rd.( North Lake Party Store on corner). Come to stop sign.
Turn left (Kaiser). Follow road to right and make the left in front of country store on
Williamsville Rd
You are  in Unadilla. Take Williamsville all the way to
M106.  Turn left on M106. Just before you get to Stockbridge turn right on Brogan Rd.
At stop sign turn left on
Dexter Trail. Sort of a long twist road. You'll come to a stop sign. Carter Rd. is to the right.
But you want to turn left, thats still Dexter Trail. (Before you got there, there are some interesting route that involves roads like
Murray, Lienhart, Catholic Church, Ewers and Williamston.)
Turn left on
Meridan( this a long road with a lot of interesting side roads)
Go all the way down to Lawton Corners.(
Berry and Meridan gas station/party store)
(1) Go straight to
M106. Turn right on M106. Not too far and you turn  left on
Root Station Rd. Turn right on Wooster. Turn left on Seymour(nice long road that turns into Trist Rd.)
(2)Turn right off of
Meridan onto Berry. Cross US-127 . Turn right on Rives/Eaton Rd. Turn left on Grand River Rd. Go to left to Tompkins. Turn right on M50. Turn left on Pope Church. Turn left on Springport Rd. ( or you can go right and that will take you into Springport Just get on M99 and go left)
Turn left on Springport, this road is real tricky even with a map. Pay attention to the street signs as you come to a intersection. Follow Springport thru a series of turns. Left then a long straight then a right then a left. Turn left on
Rives Junction. Turn right on Parnall. Go under US-127. You are North of Jackson. Cross M106(to the left is the Jackson State Prison) follow around to right,  turn left on O'Leary. After the stop sign go straight this will turn into Seymour /Trist Rd. Which is long and dead ends into Clear Lake Rd.
Turn right on Clear Lake Rd. Go all the way  to I-94. Turn around come back on Clear Lake Rd. Go all the way to the stop sign. You are in Waterloo. Store on corner. Turn right on Waterloo Rd. All the way to M-52. Turn right on M52.  Turn left on Werkner just before party store on left. At stop sign by North Lake Party Store which now has gas, turn right on North Territorial. Inverness Inn is on the left.  Which right now is closed.
(1) You can take North Territorial all the way to US-23 about ten miles North of Ann Arbor or about ten mile South of Brighton(I-96).
(2) Turn right on Mast Rd. Turn left on Huron River Dr. Deadends onto North Main St. Ann Arbor. Go left for M-14/US-23. Go right for downtown. For
Caseys turn left on Depot St. On right before Train Station. They are closed on Sundays
(3) Turn left on Mast. Turn right on
Strawberry Lake Rd. Turn left on Hamburg Rd.  At stop sign go straight you are on M36. At the four way light you are at US-23. about 15 miles north of Ann Arbor,  5 miles south of Brighton.

Some side roads off this route.
Hankard, Patterson Lk Rd., Doyle, Unadilla Rd, M36, Catholic Church Rd, Reithmiller Rd, Waterloo-Munith Rd., Coonhill Rd, Portage Lake, Mt Hope, Harvey/Cavanaugh Lake Rd.
